Today’s post is an update on my progress to cure Diabetes 2. I was unsuccessful on this program but continue to pursue my goal to cure/manage my Diabetes 2.  I began my journey to cure my Diabetes 2 on July 5, 2016.  I successfully followed the program for two weeks. By week 4 I had given up and given in, accepting that this was not the program for me.  I firmly believe that if I had persisted with the program, Blue Heron Guide to Beat Diabetes, I would have achieved success.  However, my determination was not stronger than my inability to resist hunger pangs every two hours including waking up mid-night with hunger pangs.

Therefore, I have determined that I will incorporate some of the components of this program into my daily lifestyle.  I love the morning fruit smoothies, continue to reduce my intake of carbohydrates and severely limit my intake of sugar,  white flour and white rice.  I now include bread and white potatoes in my diet in limited amounts.  I am still fighting the hunger pangs, but no longer during the night.

Another change I am making in my daily lifestyle is increasing the frequency of meals, quantity of fruits and vegetables in my diet and reducing the size of  meal portions.  I have also heeded the recommendation to cook at lower temperatures. I would love to hear from others who have tried this program; your successes and challenges. I am also adding a minimum of 15 minutes of walking daily to my regime to cure my Diabetes 2.I have also been seeking tasty and different recipes for vegetables and include one here.
